29-year-old Canadian pop sensation Carly Rae Jepsen is set to perform at the Variety Playhouse this weekend; just one of many things to do this upcoming Valentine’s Day in Atlanta.
Her current “Gimmie Love Tour” is dedicated to promoting her third album titled Emotion, which was released last June and has since peaked at number 16 on the U.S. Billboard 200.
For most casual pop fans, Jepsen’s 2011 summer hit “Call Me Maybe” had the entire country turning up the volume in their car’s speakers during their weekday commute. Her rise to fame came immediately after this song was promoted on fellow pop idol Justin Bieber’s Twitter account, launching her to the number 1 spot on the Billboard charts for nine consecutive weeks.
But to label Jepsen as a one-hit wonder or some type of teenybopper is a complete misjudgment for those who have had the opportunity to listen to more of her collection.
The process that guided the development of Emotion saw over 200 songs carefully scrutinized, until the absolute best 12 were chosen. A significant amount of effort and concern have transformed this would-have-been forgotten pop star into a serious, respectable artist whose lyrics are just as profound as the melodies that bring them to life.
Her upcoming performance at The Variety Playhouse is sure to be an amazing evening for teens, couples, and everyone in-between.

Carly is a true artist
Call me maybe ? Well it’s a poor first impression when you know what Carly Rae Jepsen can do! Very amazing concert, good vibes and a singer very close to the public : even if The Venetian is a big theater, she achieved to make her concert like a little showcase.
Intimate venue, amazing energy
Carly Rae was incredible. Not only was her voice impeccable, she pretty much covered her whole new album. Her energy was great and the crowd felt it. An unbelievable night that I will never forget.
I would see this show 10000 more times!
Carly is absolutely amazing! She puts on one of the best shows I’ve seen. She is so adorable and cares about the audience an her fans more than anything, which is rare in some artists. she’s sweet and cute and the show reflects exactly that. Old fashioned an bubblegum pop make a good mix!
confetti, balloons and an all around good time. even though there wasn’t that big of a crowd at this show, I would watch her over and over again 🙂
