Audiences who have had the pleasure of witnessing modern soul sensation Leon Bridges live, understand that his performance offers more than the traditional soothing sounds that get your body to sway from side-to-side…Bridge’s music, lyrics, and melodies essentially pull listeners into a time machine that launches them back into the late 1950s and ‘60s.
Leon Bridges Performing In Atlanta
His debut album Coming Home has only been out for less than a year and has critics and listeners in complete awe over his impeccable talent at making each individual feel like they are in a place and time that can only be imagined…A place that existed long before he and his fellow bandmates were even born.
Bridges is a true singer-songwriter artist who has clearly researched pre-soul music presented by 20th century African American artists, as he emulates the sensitive, emotional vocal styles of Sam Cooke, D’Angelo, and Curtis Harding.
While his live performances include singles from his debut album, Bridges also pens classic sensational sounds that mirror pop songs dedicated to youth, love, and heartbreak. His soulful lyrics are all complimented by his band’s horn section and the gospel-like harmonies that are maintained by his back-up singers.
His music avoids the temptation of discussing social-political perspectives, and the extent of his success has not been reached by being featured on other notable artist’s albums or hit singles. Unlike most Millennial musicians and entertainers of today, Bridges has successfully resurrected a particular style and sound that seems to be missing from modern pop music.
Simply put, Leon Bridges is a cover singer who somehow seems to mimic his own music set in another period of time and history.

What an incredible, amazing show! Bridges has such an enormous amount of grace and talent. Everyone owes it to themselves to see him perform live in person…He is that talented and good.
Favorite moment: His performance of “Smooth Sailing.”
Soul…Funk…Pop…This show has everything!
Favorite moment: All of them 🙂
This concert was pure magic. His performance really took me back to an era that I wasn’t even born in!
I’ve seen and met Leon in a more intimate setting in Nashville earlier this year and his stage presence continues to grow and develop into something bigger and more meaningful each time.
Leon couldn’t be more humble and grateful, which is clear. It’s obvious that his performance is all about the music and making the audience feel good along with him. I hope he comes back to see our city soon!
Favorite moment: River and then the crowd chanting “Leon!”for his encore performance!
